Established in 2005, MobileWorks is a software development company involved in developing applications and solutions for mobile and remote workers.
With their head office in Cambridge, MobileWorks is managed by husband and wife team, Bill Ives and Malgorzata Samul-Ives, and has a second office based in Poznan, Poland.
Their end to end mobile software systems are bespoke and highly flexible in order to meet the growing needs of their customers. With over 15 clients in Europe, Australia and North America, MobileWorks boasts a large and growing client portfolio. Their customers range from local authorities, delivery drivers, the NHS and homecare vehicles with road Maintenance companies being one of their biggest sectors.
MobileWorks comes with pedigree in developing mobile solutions with several of their founders having been involved with developing mobile data applications from the very beginning of the 2G era – as far back as 1992. Their heritage includes many firsts, such as developing the worlds first commercial SMS applications that combined email and diary notifications into text messages for a major insurance company; combining emerging GPS with GIS technology to help infrastructure engineers in the field know where their assets were located; mobilising legacy ERP systems to allow healthcare service providers to meet contracted service levels.
Bill Ives, the founder of MobileWorks, was originally introduced to Amanda, Money Mover’s Partnerships Manager, at a Cambridge Wireless (CW) event in April 2016. One month later they began using Money Mover for their international payments and in particular to pay their developers based in Poland.
Prior to hearing about Money Mover, MobileWorks were using their bank to make their international payments and had not considered any alternative providers. Although they were happy with their bank, they weren’t happy paying the hefty costs.
Malgorzata commented, “In the first instance we were attracted to Money Mover because of the significant difference in the transaction fees we were paying at our bank”, she continued, “However, once we were registered I really liked how simple it is to navigate and the how easy it is to use”.
After trying Money Mover, they immediately started to use the service for their monthly salary payments to Poland. Malgorzata uses the multiple recipients function in the application to pay her team of developers in just one transaction. Once recipients are added, it is straightforward to go into the application and select one or more recipients to pay at one time.
“The other difference between our bank and Money Mover is the support”, Malgorzata said, “Their chat feature on the website allows me to contact them and get an immediate answer without having to email or phone, when you are busy and setting up a complicated transaction this is really useful”.
